A Core Biopsy with Multiple Drilling in Sacroiliitis

Abstract
|
|
|
This study is focused on the efficacy of core biopsy with multiple drilling for sacroiliac joint pain for accurate diagnosis and early pain relief.
Sixteen cases in 15 patients with Sacroiliac joint pain from May 1988 to Oct. 1993. who could be followed up for more than 1 year were analysed. The causes were nonspecific arthritis in 9 cases. osteomyelitis in 5 cases. and rheumatoid arthritis
in

cases. Fourteen cases(87.5%) of 16 cases had a satisfactory pain relief by drilling followed by definite treatment.
The authors concluded that core biopsy with multiple drilling in sacroiliitis is effective methods for accurate diagnosis and pain relief.
